True to our ethos, we prioritize cash and voucher assistance (CVA) to ensure people living through a disaster have the freedom and flexibility to meet their unique needs, on their own terms.

We tap into community knowledge through key partnerships to understand how to meet each local community’s unique and evolving needs. Our efforts are powered by the communities we serve and focus on addressing holistic needs beyond the crisis at hand.
One way we empower disaster-stricken communities is through cash and voucher assistance. For people who have lost everything – like those impacted by the Los Angeles fires – cash assistance empowers them to purchase what they need, when they need it. Whether it’s buying gas, groceries, or new school supplies, they have the dignity of choice. After working in disaster areas around the world, CORE knows firsthand that this service is the most effective way to get people back on their feet after crisis.

Field Stories.
Whether it’s due to a wildfire, flood, hurricane, or a violent conflict, people are often left without access to critical resources – including their own homes and belongings. How do you start the painful process of trying to rebuild your life after losing almost everything?
CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) has been in Sudan since 2023, assisting those impacted by this ongoing and complex conflict. With the Sudanese Development Call Organization (NiDAA), CORE has supported 43 community-based organizations (CBOs) in and around Khartoum.
Beginning day 1 of the Los Angeles wildfires, CORE immediately sprung to action, filling gaps and assisting those impacted.
