Haiti Community Building

CORE runs longterm development programs, community planning, and housing and infrastructure rehabilitation projects in the most devastated communities in Haiti that help strengthen and build back better and more resilient communities.

The School of Hope and Sunshine

CORE founded the School of Hope and Sunshine in 2015 to provide quality education for children residing in the 60,000-person displacement camp following the devastating 2010 earthquake. As the first school in Haiti to serve children with disabilities, the school continues to provide equal access to education for children from the most marginalized communities.

Plezi Mizik

Founded on the belief that music is a transformational tool that brings about change in the lives of young people, CORE’s integrated music and arts education in Haiti trains teachers and provides technical support on instruments, music and art classes, and working with special needs children. In partnership with Music Heals International (MHI), Plezi Mizik gives students opportunities to showcase their talents at concerts and competitions throughout the year.

The program is particularly critical for youth in Haiti who lack creative opportunities and pathways to relieve stress brought on by deepening violence and instability.

The University of Haiti: Faculty of Sciences Department

Funded by the Qatar Haiti Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank, CORE rebuilt classrooms and laboratory buildings at the University of Haiti: Faculty of Sciences Department that were destroyed in the 2010 earthquake, benefitting over 2,000 students, professors, and administrative staff.

Dental

Clinic

CORE’s dental clinic offered a selection of services for the greater community of Port-au-Prince, from basic teeth cleanings to being one of Haiti’s only orthodontic clinics.
