Georgia Health Equity

Throughout 2023-24, CORE provided public health services and health educational programs throughout the state of Georgia to promote long-term health equity among marginalized and vulnerable populations.

Mpox Vaccinations and HIV/STI Test Kits

CORE, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and community partners, provides Mpox vaccinations and case surveillance, education, and outreach to high-risk communities throughout Georgia.

Additionally, CORE distributes HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) test kits at select Mpox events.

Health Outreach Program

CORE operated a Health Outreach Program throughout Georgia to increase education and support communities facing health disparities. Hosting more than 1,700 events across 88 counties (about 55% of the whole state), CORE provided health outreach services to thousands of community members, including benefits navigation, resource coordination, and health education, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Department of Children and Family Services (DFCS).

With the help of our team of Health Outreach Coordinators, these services supported Georgians at a community level, specifically targeting marginalized populations with limited access to or knowledge of community resources. We successfully connected participants to vital resources including SNAP and Medical Assistance Plans (i.e., Medicaid).
