Yves D. Kavanaugh is the Sr. Director of Global Procurement and Logistics (Safety and Security). As humanitarian emergencies become more frequent and more severe, Logistics teams face greater pressure to deliver relief items faster and more efficiently. At CORE, Yves’ team is always adapting, prepositioning supplies—including hygiene kits, tarp and installation kits, generators, debris removal equipment— and building strategic partnerships that enable quicker, more precise delivery. This ensures CORE’s emergency response teams are ready to rapidly mobilize to assist communities impacted by disaster.  

Born in Haiti during a time of despair and political unrest, Yves and his family migrated to the United States in the early 1980s and settled in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Yves joined CORE with over a decade of experience as a logistician, having provided procurement and logistical guidance and support to humanitarians all across the globe. Before that, he served 12 years in the United States Army, which included Operation Iraqi Freedom and time spent as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 173rd Airborne Brigade Based in Vicenza, Italy. He also holds an MBA from Louisiana State University. Having served in the military and worked to support the NGO community, Yves still considers his children to be his biggest accomplishments. His 26-year-old adopted son is a nurse, his firstborn is pursuing a law degree at Texas Tech University, and his daughter is aspiring to become a clinical psychologist.
