Robert Danzi is CORE’s Senior Director of International Programs, overseeing diverse operations in Haiti, Ukraine, and Sudan. He manages a team of five direct reports—comprised primarily of senior staff from the global field teams—and oversees approximately 150 team members. Accordingly, Bob’s work is deeply intertwined with that of our teams on the ground. He keeps a pulse on brewing emergency situations, safety and security risks, and emerging priorities in each region. He works closely with HQ Programs and Partnerships to identify funding opportunities and develop and implement strategic programmatic goals.  

Haiti and Ukraine are among CORE’s most robust program sites, with operations ranging from acute emergency responses like food distributions or shelter repair to mid- and long-term initiatives such as livelihoods and food security programming, school restoration, and sustainable farming and fishing practices. As both countries face different, protracted conflicts and instability, Robert collaborates with leaders on the ground to implement appropriate initiatives amid the complex environments. Since conflict broke out in Sudan in April 2024, Robert has also helped develop CORE’s strategy in the region and establish critical partnerships with local community-based organizations to reach extremely vulnerable communities with much-needed medical, food, and WASH support.  

Robert spent years working in education and development, bringing a wealth of hands-on experience working in over a dozen countries. Early in his career, he worked in India facilitating peacebuilding and educational workshops and provided programmatic oversight in countries across West Africa, the Middle East and Asia. He holds a Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Nonprofit Management and a Bachelor’s in Economics.
