North Carolina Youth Disaster Preparedness

In response to Hurricanes Florence and Michael in 2018, CORE created a disaster preparedness training program to empower young adults from economically challenged neighborhoods and marginalized communities in North Carolina to respond to disaster and support their local communities. 

As part of their training, youth receive Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) – which includes fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations – and other related courses to be prepared in case of emergency.
