Our Financials
CORE was created out of an urgent need to respond to the deadly Haiti earthquake in 2010.
Since then, we are proud to have evolved into a global humanitarian organization with a footprint on five continents. We’ve responded to natural disasters, conflict, food insecurity, climate change, and public health emergencies, powered by the support of our generous and passionate community of donors. Your trust is paramount to us, and we want you to feel confident that your donations are being utilized responsibly and effectively to achieve our humanitarian mission.
Accountability and Transparency
CORE is committed to fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence. Year-over-year, we’ve received clean financial audits and made strategic investments to strengthen our financial reporting systems. We’ve earned the highest ratings from third-party evaluators GuideStar and Charity Navigator, which affirm that your donations are being managed with the utmost care and efficiency. We have also maintained an operating reserve of over $15 million, allowing our teams to respond immediately to emergencies and continue delivering critical humanitarian programs without interruption.
Charity Evaluators
With so many communities in need both in the U.S. and around the world, it can feel overwhelming to know how to help. Plus, it can be difficult to find reliable and transparent information on charities you can trust to make the most of your valuable donation.
CORE encourages anyone interested in supporting us to learn more about our finances, mission, and programs. Third-party charity evaluators are great resources because they provide independent ratings based on financial effectiveness, accountability, impact, and transparency.
Charity Navigator
In 2024, CORE proudly received a four-star review – the highest ranking – from Charity Navigator, indicating that we are a highly effective charity.
Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator independently evaluates 501(c)(3) organizations to inform donors about the effectiveness and financial health of a charity’s programs (i.e., where your dollars are going and what your dollars are doing).
Candid
CORE received a Platinum Transparency Seal – the highest ranking – from GuideStar, another third-party evaluator that makes it simple for donors to verify and research nonprofits, like CORE. We want our information to be easily accessible so that you can learn and vet quickly.
CORE is also a proud member of InterAction, the largest domestic alliance of international NGOs and partners working collectively to serve the world’s most vulnerable communities.
