Jason McKay
Director, Medical
Jason McKay brings 25 years of experience in both public and private sectors working as a health educator, medical program manager, and certified first responder. As CORE’s Medical Director, Jason informs CORE’s health access strategy, providing leadership in both business development and program implementation. Recognizing that healthcare is a crucial aspect of all sectors involving people, Jason works to enhance CORE’s capacity to operate effectively in the clinical space in emergency contexts and beyond. Recently, he led wellness checks and medical assessments alongside trained clinical providers in communities most affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Like CORE, Jason got his start in international relief work in 2010 when he deployed to Haiti after the devastating earthquake. Working with a medical relief organization, he completed five separate medical mission tours in Port-au-Prince staffing clinics and providing impacted communities with access to healthcare that had been severely disrupted by the disaster. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Jason earned his undergraduate degree in biology and psychology from Texas A&M University. He then obtained a master’s in public administration with a focus on emergency management from the University of Texas, along with certification as a nonprofit manager. He continues to practice as a certified flight paramedic.
