Nina Knierim, the CA Area Manager for Climate Resilience and Disaster Preparedness, is an Air Force veteran who, after four years of service, obtained a law degree from Duke University.

After forming a career in corporate law in Chicago and as a Los Angeles pro-bono immigration lawyer, helping refugees and immigrants, Nina changed paths to focus on sustainability and climate change, working as a carbon emissions trading system and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) consultant.

At CORE, Nina applied her broad experience in multiple areas to successfully launch CORE’s Climate Resilience and Disaster Preparedness teams in California- linking multiple communities together in the areas of urban greening, food waste and recovery, wildfire mitigation, and disaster preparedness.
